The Montana Grizzlies defeated the UC Davis Aggies 78-65 in the opening game of the Basketball Travelers Mike Montgomery Classic on Sunday. Five Grizzlies scored in double figures and led by as many as 15 points in the first half.

Dischon Thomas scored a Montana team-high 23 points and Laolu Oke had a career-high 15 points. The duo also combined to grab 11 rebounds and shot 60 percent from the field.

Annan Moody scored 13 points and Brandon Whitney added 11. It was the first time since Feb. 3, 2022 that Montana had five players score 10 or more points in the same game.

The Grizzlies forced 19 UC Davis turnovers and scored 24 points. They led for nearly 39 of the 40 minutes of play.

Montana will now rest at home before taking on North Dakota State on Thursday night. The Bison will play UC Davis on Tuesday afternoon in the second game of the Basketball Travelers Mike Montgomery Classic.
